Symptom

After applying security settings to the Wordpress Toolkit, your site displays correctly, but not the Wordpress backend. There you only see unformatted text on a white background.

Cause

At least one of the plugins your website uses contains an error. The script chaining that Wordpress uses to speed up the process results in a broken script that prevents loading the styles of the backend. The error only becomes noticeable through the use of security settings because the security settings block the execution of scripts that are non-compliant (for example, stored in wrong directories).

Solution

To fix the cause, you must identify the faulty plugin. But you can fix the symptom without knowing the cause. Add this line to wp-config.php before the first occurrence of the "require_once ()" statement:

define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false);
