Solution
The mail server is accessible by your domain name, the host name and the host’s IP address. You can use any of these, but we recommend to use the host name. The host name is [subdomain].bitpalast.net, e.g. elbe.bitpalast.net. This is only an example. Your own host name can be obtained from “E-Mail” section in the welcome mail.
If you use the host name, you can use secure (SSL/TLS) connections for your e-mails, too, because the host is equipped with a matching SSL certificate. If you use your domain name or the IP address of the host instead and try an encrypted (secured) connection, your mail software will display a security warning, because the certificate for domain or IP address is missing.
